2.2. Foreign Language Teaching Assistant Program

The purpose of this program is to strengthen foreign language instruction by establishing a native speaker presence at US educational institutions. The student teachers are invited to take two college level courses. They are provided free room and board on compus, and are given a small monthly stipend.











Requirements
  • Between 20 and 30 years old
  • Formal training and/or 3 year's professional experience in the teaching of a language.
  • Proficiency in English (TOEFL)
  • Be willing to give presentations about the culture of our country and other recreational activities.
  • Pay $ 75 US (75 dollars) to the Institute of International Education and $25 (25 dollars) to the Fulbright Commission, to cover the administrative costs of the program.

MONTESSORI OPTION
  • A two-year work and study assignment in a school which belongs to the American Montessori Society will lead to a Montessori teaching credential. The application process is the same as above, and candidates must have completed a university degree and also some experience in working with children.
