1.3.1. TOEFL

The purpose of the Text of English as a Foreign Language is to evaluate the English proficiency of people whose native language is not English.
Most universities in the United States require TOEFL scores for the purposes of admission.
This test is also used by institutions in other countries where English is the language of instruction, and by government agencies and scholarship programs to evaluate proficiency in English. Most universities in the US require a score of 173 (500 in the paper-based test) or more; graduate programs require 213 (550 paper-based) or even 250 (600) or more. For more information please visit
